Tuesday, March 18, 2008 8:11 AM ET | contributed by Jason Hammond

The 49ers planning application requests the rezoning of 33 acres of city-owned land where the stadium would sit. Following opposition from Cedar Fair Entertainment, Great America's owner, to a stadium in the theme park's main parking lot, the 49ers are applying to build in Great America's overflow lot, slightly to the east across San Tomas Aquino Creek. Cedar Fair doesn't really have much of a leg to stand on here. We're talking about going against the city AND the DeBartolos. I'd say it's in their best interest to settle because if they don't it's going to go forward anyhow.

I'm pretty sure that an NFL team will bring in more revenue to a city in 6 or 8 home games in a year than Great America does all year.
