So I guess we're waiting for Face/Off's new name to be finalized? I'll be stunned if the others get different names than those at other parks.
If they even use "Flight Deck" I'm going to be annoyed and call out the P&D people for being lame.
"Flight Deck" deserves a harsher title than "lame." "uber-lame?"
"Iron Dragon" is always available as a name for a Cedar Fair owned Arrow suspended *** This post was edited by ShiveringTim 1/15/2008 10:27:00 AM ***

Iron Dragon would imply that Top Gun is lame, which it is far from.
Top Gun isn't lame. But, they can't use it.

Suspended Deck? ~Rob Willi
They should rename it Centipede. -Tambo
How about "the Flying Coaster"?
They could put a loop on it and call it "Son of a Gun". *** This post was edited by Ensign Smith 1/15/2008 1:26:35 PM ***

^One of the most creative/funny comments I've seen on here in a while! I like it; I say they use it.
I guess I'm a sucker, but, Flight Deck doesn't seem that bad to me. "Power Tower" ain't exactly bursting with excitement. Son of a Gun though....nice.
It's bursting with power, wahoo. Flight Deck is just a hair better than a regular deck. Power Flight Deck?
How about instead of Face Off, they call it Face Lift and put a picture of Joan Rivers by the entrance. That would be one scary ride.....
How about naming it Invertigo?
I think someone in the forum thread mentioned this, but I don't see why they don't keep the Top Gun name. Face/Off, too, for that matter. These terms are certainly not exclusive to Paramount. You'd have to change the fonts and take the slash out of Face/Off, but why change when top gun was originally a military term, and more people relate a face off to hockey than a forgotten movie.

Swoops: The Ride comes immediately to mind for Top Gun. A few people may even know why... (Cedar Fair doesn't have an exclusive on dumb names. Not by a long shot. They just happen to be very good at coming up with dumb names.) --Dave Althoff, Jr.
At least with the Top Gun, they have a huge billboard of a flight deck with planes taking off in the queue on the way to the ride.
I say call it Banshee! Way cooler than Mantis IMHO. Chuck
speaking of dumb names, how about "Top Thrill Swingster" ?
Cedar Fair could change the name from Face/Off to the fabulous name of Back To Back...
How is this going to work with changing Tomb Raider? Not only do they have to change the name, but don't they have to change alot of the theming on the ride? Is CF going to come up with their own character and try to portray a story while riding?
How about "Exciting swinging suspended coaster". Would be just as creative as Back Lot Stunt Coaster. How about "Thunder Road " seeing how that was to be the orginal name before Paramount purchased the park? Face off could be renamed "Looping, reversing suspended coaster". *** This post was edited by timberguy 1/16/2008 6:38:52 PM ***

Paint it black and red and call it "The Bat"! Or just call it "The Patriot"! I like those, but almost anything would be better.

Good one. Seriously, Flight Deck is not horrible, although it does have a stationary sounding quality to it. There are a lot of other names that could have conveyed that dynamic: how about Alpha Squadron? Navy Angels? (I'm guessing 'Blue Angels' is protected, but something along those kinds of lines ought to be okay.) Or how about Fighter Wing? I know...U.S.S. Kinzel.
How about finding them or having S&S make some tubs like Bats, Put a full moon on that billboard, Spook up the station a bit and just call it The Bat?? Hell, it was cool then, It would be cool now. Fight Deck? Might as well be J2

The sign is looking good, clean and simple.
At least they aren't wasting any time changing things. Believe it or not, there are still road signs here in Nashville for Opryland! (The park closed in 1997!) Just wondering if the interstate signs said just "Kings Island" or "Paramount's Kings Island"? I think that is why the signs for Opryland are still around... the DOT gets in a hurry for no one!
