I thought I had heard that they were starting work on the other half of the pop century resort? I am not sure why they are going to add a value priced hotel, if there going to continue work on pop.

^Because they're making a butt-load of money off their value packages.

"On the western edge of the resort, Disney is planning a mixed-use retail, dining and lodging district just outside Walt Disney World Resort’s western entrance. Early development plans include: -4,000 - 5,000 low- to mid-rise valued-priced lodging units -300,000 - 500,000 square feet of commercial space, including restaurants, shopping and small-scale entertainment" Wow! Even Disney sees value in developing property for 'mixed-use' purposes. They just don't have to sell off any of their parks to make it happen.

As I understand it, the Western Beltway site is expected to be an even better 'value' than the current "Value" resorts, as well as a more direct competitor to the off-property tourist-trap flea markets and the mid-range timeshare units---Cypress Pointe, Silver Lake, etc. The Four Seasons property, on the other hand, is expected to be even more 'deluxe' than the current "Deluxes".
