Universal Orlando wants to be more "green"

Universal Orlando Resort on Monday announced its commitment to use alternative or "green" fuels in all of its service vehicles and mobile equipment. Universal Orlando Resort President and Chief Operating Officer Bill Davis announced the fuels initiative in beginning "Green Is Universal" week to spotlight environmental awareness for theme park customers and employees.

Good for them. Every little bit helps and I can't imagine it's very expensive to go green as they are.

If their service vehicles are diesel, they could easily use bio-diesel.

Disneyland converted their locomotives to bio-diesel and save something like 500,000 gallons of diesel per year - not to mention saving the exhaust.

I went into GR about 4-5 years ago to praise them for the recycling containers at Seuss Landing (and to inquire when we might expect them park-wide). Not too long afterward, they were *everywhere*. Now this - great work, Universal!

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Cedar Point won't be converting their employee bus (BLUE THUNDER!) to "green fuel" anytime soon.
