I'm sorry, I don't get it. While the ride sounds interesting adding 3D to a dark ride (I am thinking Spiderman meets Scooby Doo) I don't understand why you would put a similar attraction right next door. IMO, the parks should offer different thrills giving you reason to take in the park, not do basically the same thing by staying in Disneyland.

There's a video of someone explaining the ride (Bob Iger I believe). It looked cool to me. How many Dumbo type rides can you have, (Magic Kingdom has three)? You can never have enough shooting rides. Plus it's Toy Story, who doesn't like that movie.

So, do you also think all dark rides are the same? If that's the case, Disney only has about ten attractions. LOL!! Water rides are all the same too? Man, I guess they only have one of those. :rolleyes:

I think the difference here is that DCA only has Monsters Inc and maybe Tower of Terror (depending on how you consider the first part of the ride)for dark rides, where DLP has a ton of dark rides. While it's not exactly what they need (they need another E-Ticket), it helps to round out the park a little. It also gives them something else to market to families, which DCA doesn't do too well with all it's more extreme attractions (Screamin', Soarin', Tower of Terror, etc.)*** This post was edited by ShiveringTim 9/18/2007 3:58:50 PM ***

It just boggles my mind that other parks lately are putting in literal clones of rides, using identical ride names in multiple parks and building duplicate resorts at different parks and everyone thinks its a "great business decision". Disney puts in a SIMILAR ride (not even close to being a clone) and people are all over them.

I still think they should have built Anti-Disneyland across the street (although some would argue that was what DCA turned into)...but you know...like the bad guys in Super Friends.

Being a bit of a Disney freak, I guess I am a bit disappointed with what they are doing with this attraction. Disney has been putting off the DCA detractors with this whole "Midway Mania" project, saying this is going to turn around DCA. While I think it will add a decent attraction to the Paradise Pier area, I do think that it will not add to the dismal attendance at the DCA park after it has been there six months or so.
